PLASMA RESURFACING

SKINovative® is the first facility in Houston, Texas to offer the latest in skin rejuvenation - Portrait™ Plasma Resurfacing. Plasma Resurfacing is the first and only treatment clinically proven to regenerate skin.

Created by Rhytec™, the unique energy-transferring mechanism initiates regeneration deep below the skin's surface, remodeling the skin's architecture and creating dramatic results that improve over time as the new architecture progressively replaces the old. This treatment allows for the benefits of traditional laser peels without the risks or downtime.

How does Plasma Resurfacing work?

The innovative Plasma Resurfacing technology transfers nitrogen plasma energy to the architecture of the skin using a non-contact technique producing controlled, uniform regeneration of your skin. This technique preserves the skin's outer layers which act as a protective dressing until new skin regenerates.

Is Plasma Resurfacing safe?

Plasma Resurfacing has demonstrated an excellent safety profile in clinical studies. It does not involve intense light radiation as found with ablative laser treatments, which are known to be associated with scarring and often protracted periods of downtime.

What is a Plasma Resurfacing treatment like?

You may experience a localized sensation of heat during the brief procedure. A topical anesthetic may be applied before the treatment.

What results should I expect from a Plasma Resurfacing treatment?

You will see improvements in skin texture, tone and reduction in wrinkles soon after your treatment. However, one of the most striking and unique advantages of Plasma Resurfacing is that it stimulates a natural process of regeneration, producing results that progressively improve over time. New healthier collagen growth will improve contours and enhance your overall appearance. Clinical studies show that this improvement progression continues for at least one year after treatment.

Are there side effects from a Plasma Resurfacing treatment?

Depending on the level of treatment your skin may experience redness and flaking, or, at higher levels of treatment, the outer layer of skin may turn brown and shed three to five days after treatment. Once this occurs, the redness of the regenerated skin will last for two to three days. On darker skin, the localized redness may appear as a darker spot that lightens over time. The risks and down-time associated with this procedure are significantly less than those of traditional laser peels.

What is PlasmaLift?
